Location overview

Crawford County lies in northwestern Pennsylvania, with its government based in Meadville. French Creek runs through the county from north to south and historically carried lumber and salt toward Pittsburgh. The county was formed from Allegheny County in 1800, during the organization of several counties across the state’s northwest.
