Gueydan, Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, USA

Gueydan is an incorporated town in western Vermilion Parish in southwestern Louisiana. Its surrounding landscape includes rice-growing land and marshes used by migratory waterfowl. Waterfowl hunting and rice cultivation are distinctive parts of the area’s identity. The Gueydan Museum occupies an early 20th-century bank building and preserves photographs and artifacts from the community’s early history.
