Municipality

Location overview

Easton is a town in Bristol County, Massachusetts, between Boston and Providence. Five villages, wooded neighborhoods, ponds and former industrial sites create a landscape that is suburban in character but retains older town centers. Incorporated in 1725, Easton later became associated with the Ames family and its nationally important toolmaking enterprises. Buildings designed by H.H. Richardson and landscapes by Frederick Law Olmsted give North Easton a distinctive architectural legacy. Education, health care, professional services and regional commuting shape the town today.
