Taos, Taos County, New Mexico, USA

Taos is a town in Taos County in northern New Mexico. It lies in the Taos Valley near the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The town incorporated in 1934, following a much longer history of settlement in the valley. Its cultural landscape reflects Indigenous and Hispanic traditions, and it developed a prominent art colony in the early 20th century. Museums, galleries and access to mountain recreation remain important features of the community.
