Idalou, Lubbock County, Texas, USA

Idalou is a city in eastern Lubbock County, Texas, northeast of Lubbock on U.S. 62 and U.S. 82. It developed around a railway switch and depot when the line between Lubbock and Crosbyton was built in 1911. The surrounding countryside is part of the southern High Plains. Cotton and sorghum farming helped sustain its growth as a local trading community. Idalou incorporated in 1925.
