Atchison County

Atchison County is the county government serving residents and businesses in northeastern Kansas, with its courthouse in the city of Atchison. Its three-member elected Board of County Commissioners oversees the budget, executive functions and county policies for communities inside and outside city limits. The county treasurer collects real estate and personal property taxes, distributes revenue to local taxing entities and processes vehicle registrations and titles. County offices also provide public administration and information through the courthouse and the county website. The government works alongside municipal and state agencies while maintaining its own county responsibilities.
