City of Big Spring

The City of Big Spring is the municipal government for Big Spring, the Howard County seat in West Texas. An elected council sets local policy, and a city manager directs day-to-day administration. City departments provide police and fire protection, planning, public works, parks and municipal court services to residents and businesses. The government also operates water and wastewater treatment, sanitation services, and the Big Spring Airpark and industrial park. Incorporated in 1907, the city serves a community that grew around a natural spring and a crossroads between Midland, Lubbock, Abilene and San Angelo.
