City of Fort Scott

The City of Fort Scott is the municipal government for Fort Scott in Bourbon County, southeastern Kansas. It has used a commission-manager form of government since 1975, with elected commissioners setting policy and a manager overseeing daily administration. City departments provide police and fire protection, streets, water and wastewater services, planning, code enforcement and recreation. The city also operates a municipal airport, library and golf course. Public works maintains infrastructure while finance and clerk staff manage records, billing and council business. The government serves residents and businesses in a historic regional center near the Missouri border.
