City of Mission

The City of Mission is the municipal government serving Mission in Hidalgo County, Texas, in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Its elected mayor and four council members set policy, adopt the budget and oversee municipal affairs, while a city manager directs administration. City departments provide police and fire protection, public works, sanitation, parks, planning and other local services. The city secretary maintains official records, handles public-information responsibilities and serves as registrar of vital statistics. City Hall is at 1201 E. Eighth St., and the government also administers utility billing, municipal-court services and a public library.
