City of Newburgh

The City of Newburgh is the municipal government serving Newburgh, New York, with City Hall at 83 Broadway. It operates under a council-manager system in which the council sets policy and appoints a full-time city manager to oversee administration. The manager directs city departments, implements council decisions, prepares the annual budget and coordinates emergency response. Municipal work includes police and fire protection, water and sewer services, sanitation, engineering, recreation and the administration of local payments and permits. Newburgh has used the council-manager system since 1917, with revisions adopted through the 2011 charter review.
