Hawaiian Airlines
Organization overview

Hawaiian Airlines is a Hawaii-based passenger and cargo airline brand within Alaska Air Group. Its history began in 1929 as Inter-Island Airways, and its network connects communities within Hawaii with destinations across North America and the Pacific. Alaska Air Group acquired Hawaiian Holdings in 2024 while committing to retain Hawaiian’s distinct name and identity. In October 2025, the Federal Aviation Administration recognized Alaska and Hawaiian as one airline under Alaska’s operating certificate. Hawaiian continues as a separate customer-facing brand, with Honolulu-based leadership supporting flights to, from and within the islands. Its passenger service systems have also been combined with Alaska’s.
