Jackson County Sheriff's Office

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is the county law-enforcement agency serving Jackson County in southern Indiana. Based in Brownstown, it provides patrol, investigations, emergency dispatch, court security and other public-safety services. The office also operates the county jail and coordinates with municipal police, fire departments and state agencies. Its jurisdiction includes rural communities, highways and incorporated areas throughout the county, with elected leadership accountable to county residents.
