Kaufman County

Kaufman County government serves residents and unincorporated communities east of Dallas in Texas. Its offices administer courts, law enforcement, jail services, elections, property taxes and public records. The county also maintains roads and bridges in unincorporated areas and provides certain health and human services. A commissioners court, composed of the county judge and precinct commissioners, sets the budget and tax rate and oversees county operations. The government coordinates services through departments based in and around the county seat of Kaufman.
