Lake Superior State University

Lake Superior State University is a public university in Sault Ste. Marie on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It offers liberal and technical studies through degree and certificate programs, serving students from the eastern Upper Peninsula and beyond. The university is governed by an eight-member board of trustees appointed by Michigan’s governor. Its campus supports academic instruction, student activities and community engagement in a region near the Canadian border. LSSU is a separate institution from the city of Sault Ste. Marie and other local public agencies.
