Oahu Transit Services

Oahu Transit Services is a private nonprofit company operating TheBus and TheHandi-Van for the City and County of Honolulu. The city owns the transit system’s assets and equipment, while the company employs the staff responsible for daily bus and paratransit operations. Its work includes bus transportation, vehicle maintenance, customer service, planning and supporting administrative functions. TheBus provides fixed-route public transportation across Oahu. TheHandi-Van provides curb-to-curb paratransit for people with disabilities or mobility limitations, with staff scheduling trips, coordinating routes and assisting passengers. The company’s operations run under contract with Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services.
