Scottsboro Police Department

The Scottsboro Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency serving Scottsboro, Alabama. Uniformed officers patrol neighborhoods and business areas, answer calls, enforce traffic laws and make initial investigations at crime scenes. Detectives conduct follow-up criminal investigations, while specialized personnel handle warrants, school resource assignments, animal control and the city jail. The department’s communications division answers local assistance calls and 911 calls throughout Jackson County, dispatching police, fire and other emergency resources. It also maintains records and administrative support for officers and residents. This mix of city policing and countywide emergency dispatch gives the department responsibilities beyond routine patrol.
