Sensata Technologies is a global industrial technology group that designs and manufactures sensors, electrical protection components and related systems. Its products serve automotive, industrial, aerospace, defense and commercial equipment markets, measuring physical conditions and protecting electrical circuits in customer equipment. The group’s publicly traded parent is Sensata Technologies Holding plc, an England and Wales company listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol ST. Sensata maintains U.S. headquarters in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and U.K. headquarters in Swindon, alongside manufacturing, engineering and business sites in several countries. Its history includes the General Plate Company founded in Attleboro in 1916, while the Sensata Technologies name dates to Bain Capital’s purchase of the business in 2006.
