Town of Orange

The Town of Orange is the municipal government for Orange, Virginia, the county seat of Orange County in the state’s Piedmont region. The town provides local public safety, public works, planning, utilities and administrative services for residents and businesses. Orange developed as a courthouse community and commercial center for the surrounding agricultural area. It was incorporated in 1872, although the community’s role as the county seat dates to the 18th century. Its historic downtown remains closely tied to the civic and commercial life of Orange County.
