Jefferson County Network Security Incident
Public report preview
Jefferson County, Missouri, could not process transactions after phone and server problems and canceled two public meetings. Officials said a network security threat led them to take systems offline; the network was still disrupted Oct. 7 while they worked toward restoration. The sheriff's law-enforcement functions were unaffected, and no data breach had been indicated.
