Milwaukee County child-abuse reporting hotline outage

A router replacement disrupted the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families' 220-SAFE child-abuse hotline and fax service for Milwaukee County on Oct. 15, 2026. A caller and reporter could not complete calls into Oct. 16. DCF said the router was repaired and both lines restored Oct. 16, although its timing conflicts with the reporter's failed 10:30 a.m. call. No cyber involvement was established.
