Jefferson County, Idaho, USA
County or equivalent
Location overview
Jefferson County is in eastern Idaho on the Upper Snake River Plain, with Rigby as its county seat. Established in 1913, it is named for Thomas Jefferson. The Snake River and an extensive network of canals support irrigated agriculture in the county. Wetlands and sagebrush steppe around Camas National Wildlife Refuge contrast with the county’s cultivated fields and river corridors. Its landscape also includes basalt terrain and the higher ground around Kelly Mountain.
