Anoka County, Minnesota, USA
County or equivalent
Location overview
Anoka County lies immediately north of Minneapolis and St. Paul in east-central Minnesota. Anoka is the county seat, while Blaine, Coon Rapids, Fridley, Andover and other communities form a populous suburban corridor that gives way to forests, wetlands and rural land farther north. The Mississippi and Rum rivers are defining waterways, and numerous lakes and parks shape the landscape. The county was organized in 1857 as settlement expanded beyond the Twin Cities. Manufacturing, health care, retail, construction, logistics and regional commuting support its economy.
