Thurston County, Nebraska, USA

Thurston County lies in northeastern Nebraska along the Missouri River. Pender is its county seat, and its communities include Macy, Rosalie, Walthill and Winnebago. The county includes land within the Omaha and Winnebago reservations. Emerson extends into Thurston, Dixon and Dakota counties. The county received its present name in 1889 in honor of U.S. Sen. John M. Thurston.
