Juneau County lies in central Wisconsin, with Mauston as its county seat and Interstate 90/94 crossing its southern half. Forests, wetlands, cranberry country and rolling farmland meet the Wisconsin River and the broad waters of Castle Rock and Petenwell lakes. The county developed through farming, logging and rail transportation, while its towns retain the character of small communities in the state’s central sands region.
