Oceanside is a coastal city in northern San Diego County, immediately south of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The city has 3.5 miles of public beaches, a 1,954-foot fishing pier and a public marina that support surfing, boating and tourism. Oceanside reported a population of 174,340 in 2026. Camp Pendleton has strongly influenced the city’s growth, housing and service economy, while rail and highway connections link it with San Diego and Orange County.
