Naturita is a town along the San Miguel River in western Montrose County, Colorado. It began as a ranching community and later became a supply center for nearby mines. Uranium mining was an important part of the area’s industrial history. State Highway 141 connects the town with the surrounding mountain and canyon country, where outdoor recreation is a prominent attraction.
