Hawkinsville is a city on the Ocmulgee River in central Georgia and the seat of Pulaski County. Incorporated in 1830, it developed as a river transportation and trading center. Its historic downtown includes the Hawkinsville Opera House and the Pulaski County Courthouse. The city has a long association with harness-horse training and holds a festival celebrating that history.
