Location overview

Ucon is a city in Bonneville County in eastern Idaho, north of Idaho Falls. Settlement began in the mid-1880s in an area originally called Willow Creek. The community was later known as Ako and Elva before adopting the name Ucon in 1911. Its early commercial center included hotels, a mercantile store and an amusement hall. Railroad development in nearby communities later redirected trade and reduced its role as a regional hub.
