Tipton, Tipton County, Indiana, USA

Tipton is a city in central Indiana and the seat of Tipton County, northeast of Indianapolis. State roads 19 and 28 cross the community along its main north-south and east-west routes. Platted in 1844 as the county seat, it grew with the arrival of railroads in the 19th century. The historic county courthouse, completed in 1894, anchors a downtown of older commercial buildings. Residential neighborhoods surround the center, with farmland beyond the city.
