Jeffersontown is a city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, east of Louisville. The community grew around a crossroads on land Abraham Bruner laid out in 1794. Jefferson County formally established the town in 1797. Its public square became a commercial center served by a railroad depot and, from 1903, an interurban route to Louisville.
