Location overview
Cohasset is a coastal town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, on Boston’s South Shore. It incorporated separately from Hingham in 1770. Shipyards and a fishing fleet once made its harbor the center of local commerce. The arrival of the railroad in 1849 helped attract summer residents and large coastal estates. Parks, beaches, wooded land and its historic town center remain important features of the community.
