Pepperell is a town in northern Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on the New Hampshire border. The Nashua and Nissitissit rivers cross a landscape of village neighborhoods, forests, wetlands and former farmland. Pepperell developed from 18th-century settlement and later supported mills and other industry powered by its waterways. Historic districts and extensive conservation land preserve both its village and rural character. The town forms part of the outer Boston region while maintaining close connections with nearby Nashua, Groton and the Merrimack Valley.
