Byron Township lies south of Grand Rapids in southwestern Kent County, centered on the community of Byron Center. U.S. 131 and M-6 connect its expanding neighborhoods and commercial districts with the wider metropolitan area. The township combines suburban growth with farmland and open country, particularly away from the principal transportation corridors.
