Cascade Township lies southeast of Grand Rapids along the Thornapple River, with Cascade village forming its traditional community center. Wooded river valleys, residential neighborhoods and open land extend eastward from the denser commercial corridors near Interstate 96. Gerald R. Ford International Airport occupies the township’s western side and is a defining transportation landmark for the area.
