Sand Lake is a village in northern Kent County, surrounded by Nelson Township and located near the Newaygo County line. The village sits beside its namesake lake and has a compact center bordered by farms, woodlands and scattered rural homes. Its setting provides access to fishing, boating, trails and other outdoor recreation while remaining within commuting distance of Grand Rapids. Sand Lake recorded 522 residents in the 2020 Census.
