Greenville is the county seat of Greenville County and the principal urban center of South Carolina’s Upstate. The Reedy River runs through downtown, where Falls Park and its waterfall form the centerpiece of a widely recognized redevelopment of the former textile city. Greenville had an estimated population of 74,371 in 2024, while its economic reach extends across a much larger metropolitan area.
