Needville, Fort Bend County, Texas, USA

Needville is a city in southern Fort Bend County, Texas, south of Richmond along State Highway 36. It developed from a settlement established by August Schendel in the early 1890s. Cotton farming, livestock and agricultural trade shaped its early economy, with later oil, natural gas and sulfur development in the surrounding area. The city incorporated in 1944. Its streets and businesses form a service center for nearby farming communities.
