Richardson, Dallas County, Texas, USA

Richardson is a city in North Texas spanning Dallas and Collin counties, just north of Dallas. Founded in 1873 around a Houston & Texas Central Railway depot, it incorporated in 1925. Central Expressway crosses the city, and rail transit connects its neighborhoods and employment centers with the wider Dallas area. Telecommunications and electronics helped transform the former farming community into an employment center known for the Telecom Corridor. The University of Texas at Dallas, which developed from the Southwest Center for Advanced Studies, is a major part of the city’s educational landscape.
