Bassett is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Henry County in southern Virginia. It lies along the Smith River northwest of Martinsville, on the Fairystone Park Highway corridor. The community developed as part of the region’s furniture and textile manufacturing economy, with former industrial buildings lining the river valley. Public river access connects Bassett with the Smith River Blueway, which extends downstream through Henry County toward North Carolina.
