Seattle, King County, Washington, USA

Seattle is a city in King County in western Washington, between Puget Sound and Lake Washington. Lake Union and Green Lake are among the lakes within the city. Hills, ridges, valleys and ravines give Seattle a varied landscape shaped by glaciation and later urban development. Its early commercial center grew around a protected harbor on Elliott Bay and a waterfront lumber mill. Reincorporated in 1869, the city expanded beyond that early settlement through later growth and annexations.
