Location overview
Milwaukee is a city in southeastern Wisconsin on the western shore of Lake Michigan. The Milwaukee, Menomonee and Kinnickinnic rivers converge near its harbor. The settlements of Juneautown, Kilbourntown and Walker’s Point combined to form the city in 1846. River and rail access supported its growth as a trading and manufacturing center. The RiverWalk links riverfront public spaces, historic bridges and downtown neighborhoods.
