Stevens Point is a city in central Wisconsin and the seat of Portage County. It lies along the Wisconsin River near the center of the county and anchors an urban area that also includes nearby Plover, Park Ridge and Whiting. The city is the county’s only incorporated city; surrounding parts of Portage County include separate villages and towns. Stevens Point’s municipal boundary is distinct from the county boundary and from the service footprints of individual city departments and utilities. City Hall is at 1515 Strongs Ave., but the municipality record represents the city as a whole, not that single building.
