American Color Imaging logo

American Color Imaging is a professional photographic printing laboratory based in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The company was founded in Waterloo in 1967 by Donald Lohnes as American Professional Color Corp. and later became American Color Imaging, commonly known as ACI. It grew from a traditional professional photo-finishing business into a nationwide provider of photographic prints, albums, wall art, gallery wraps, cards and other customized imaging products for professional photographers. The business remained associated with the Lohnes family for decades, with Lohnes’ daughter, Lisa Lane, and her husband, Mark Lane, later serving as co-owners. In 2026, American Color Imaging was sold to private investment firm Proviso Capital.
