Charter Township of Alpena

The Charter Township of Alpena is the local government for the township surrounding the city of Alpena in northeastern Michigan. Its elected Board of Trustees includes a supervisor, clerk, treasurer and trustees who oversee township administration and finances. Township offices manage property assessing, planning and zoning, while its fire department provides public safety and emergency response service. The township also operates water and sewer systems for customers in its service area. Its jurisdiction includes communities outside the separately governed city and extends along the Lake Huron shore in Alpena County.
