Alpena Township water SCADA cyberattack

A July 27 cyberattack affecting UIS SCADA infrastructure cut remote monitoring for Alpena Township's water and sewer operator and required programmable logic controllers at multiple sites to be reprogrammed. Remote monitoring was restored and utility service remained safe, while the township considered replacing 15 older cellular modems; the access method, data impact and actor remain unknown.
