Chelan County, Washington

Chelan County is a county government serving communities in north-central Washington, with its administrative center in Wenatchee. Elected officials include county commissioners, the sheriff, auditor, assessor, treasurer, prosecutor and court officers. County departments handle roads, land-use planning, emergency management, solid waste, parks and other regional services. A natural resources department works on water, forests, fish and agricultural issues across the county’s varied landscape. The government supports communities ranging from the Wenatchee area to smaller towns and rural valleys near Lake Chelan and the Cascade Mountains. Its responsibilities combine ordinary county administration with substantial land and watershed management.
