Wenatchee is the county seat of Chelan County and a regional center for North Central Washington. The city lies in a fertile valley at the confluence of the Wenatchee and Columbia rivers, with the foothills of the Cascade Range rising to the west. Wenatchee had an estimated population of 35,401 in 2024. Long associated with apple growing and the surrounding fruit industry, the city also serves as a center for commerce, health care and recreation.
