City of Suisun City

The City of Suisun City is the municipal government for a waterfront community in Solano County, California, east of San Francisco Bay. Incorporated in 1868, Suisun City grew around a shipping channel that connected farms in the Sacramento Valley with regional markets. The city operates under a council-manager form of government, with an elected City Council setting policy and an appointed manager directing daily administration. Municipal departments provide police, fire protection, planning, public works, parks, recreation and other local services. The government also manages the historic waterfront and supports a community whose residential neighborhoods are closely tied to nearby Fairfield and Travis Air Force Base.
