Suisun City is a city in Solano County, California, located along Suisun Bay immediately southeast of Fairfield. The community developed as a port and commercial center in the 1850s, using waterways and later rail connections to move agricultural products from the surrounding Suisun Valley and Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta region. Suisun City was incorporated in 1868 and today forms part of the Fairfield–Suisun City urban area between the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento. Its waterfront and adjacent Suisun Marsh, one of the largest contiguous brackish marshes in the United States, are defining features of the community. The city had about 29,500 residents in the 2020 census.
