Giant Food

Giant Food is a supermarket chain based in Landover, Maryland, and one of Ahold Delhaize’s U.S. grocery brands. It began in 1936 with a store in Washington, D.C., and expanded across the capital region. Its supermarkets serve communities in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia. Customers can buy groceries in stores or use pickup and home delivery services; many stores also include pharmacies. Giant Food is a distinct company from The GIANT Company, another Ahold Delhaize chain based in Pennsylvania, despite the similar names and shared parent.
